Oyster White ….my new favorite paint color

It’s exciting to see the transformation of a room with a coat of paint.  But what color?  The task of picking  just the right color to reflect your taste and style can be easy for some and for others it can be difficult and overwhelming.  The process of finding the right soft shade of white took me awhile to find.  In the end I narrowed it down and decided on Sherwin Williams paint color, Oyster White.  It’s my new go-to paint color for the interior walls of my home.  It has a cool gray base color with a hint of warm beige.  It compliments the decor without being bold or overpowering.

The little side table and the terra-cotta  pot filled with peonies looked beautiful against it.

The clean appearance of the walls even made my old galvanized bucket look pretty enough to be on display.

A sampling of colors and things for my little photo session to see how well they compliment each other and with the newly painted walls.

I discovered the color last year while trying to decide on a new color to paint the bathrooms. This picture {above} with the light fixture and mirror are in one of the two bathrooms I painted. A little something to consider with any paint color, depending on how the light hits it, the color could take on a completely different appearance {above pic: white/gray}.

Notice the refection in the mirror of the walls that were not in direct sun light, different colors yet the same paint.

The prep work before the paint goes up on the walls and ceilings in the new room above the garage and the hallway/stairway.

The painting task was too big for me to take on because of the high ceilings and walls.  Our friend, Hugo Cardona and his crew installed the drywall and painted the rooms. If you live in Seattle or the surrounding areas and in need of help with a remodeling project {big or small}, his contact info is at the end of the post.

This project has been on hold, and we are now making progress.  I posted a picture last year here when it was being framed out.

In the space above the new garage, the walls were painted with the color, Oyster White and Pure White was used on the ceilings.  It has been almost three years since the demolition of the old garage and the removal of some large trees to accommodate the new garage.  The space will be used by the kids and their friends and as storage.

Thanks Linda! We are slowing getting things done …flooring is next and then finishing up the electrical before we could move anything in there.
