Easter Flower Arrangements

Easter flower - egg arrangements

Hello Spring!

With the arrival of spring there is a new sense of beauty emerging. Fruit trees are blossoming and flowers are starting to come up.  On a recent trip to a gardening and nursery center, the sense of spring was in the air as I walked down the aisles filled with flowers, herbs, vegetables and other pretty plants.  After a bit of time I was able to pick a nice selection to take home to be used to make flower arrangements for Easter.  Moss, lichen and hard broiled eggs were also a part of the arrangement filling in the empty spaces between the plants.  I like the organic feel of the display {above pic} and how it brought a little touch of spring inside the house.

My Favorite Picks From Spring Fashion 2016

Fashion spring 2016 Marchesa

Floral dresses in soft pastel hues come to mind when I think of spring fashion.  Recently, Haute Couture Fashion Week was held in Paris from January 24th to the 29th.  The designers unveiled their spring collections that were diverse from one designer to the next with each piece of garment being unique, handmade and one of a kind.  My two favorite collections were Giambattista Valli and Ralph and Russo.  In addition, Marchesa RTW spring 2016 collection from New York fashion week was also a favorite.  The selected pieces from these three collections could be described with adjectives such as voluminous, dreamy, extravagant, beautiful and enchanting.  The gowns had sweeping trains and layer upon layer of tulle and feathers meticulously sewn on. Each one was like an art piece to be admired and be inspired by, and I hope you will be too.

Gardening

It felt good to be in the garden again.  I’ve been taking advantage of the beautiful warm sunny days to clean the garden, sift the compost, pull weeds, and plant seeds.  Just days after I planted these little radish seedlings they started to emerge and will soon be ready to harvest.

Mother’s Day ⎜Herb Bouquets ⎜Sweet Pastries

Mother's Day - lavender bouquet

A bouquet of lavender leaves and rosemary flowers.

These precious hands {Hannah} held a sweet and simple herb bouquet for Mother’s Day.  Clay pots that were once filled with dried herbs and lavender have new purposes as containers for fresh herbs.  To see and photograph my children holding and preparing these bouquets were as much of a gift as it is to receive them.
