December is just a day away.
What better way to begin the season than to start counting down the days till Christmas, is what my kids would say.
.
It’s not too late to make these little packages for the advent calendar.
Let’s get started!
.
Supplies {from left to right}: red/white twine ⎜ 25 white paper bags {3.5″ x 2″ x 6.75″} ⎜ red Craft Smart paint pen {a Sharpie or a marker will work too} ⎜ peppermint candy and other treats/toys.
.
Using a red pen, write a number at the bottom left corner on each bag, starting with number one and ending with number twenty-five. Make each number about 1½ – 2 inches tall.
Fill each bag with treats/toys.
.
About two inches down from the top of the bag start gathering the sides together to close the opening. Take a piece of twine {about 14 inches long} and wrap it around the gathered area of the bag twice then tie a knot. Careful not to pull on the twine too hard for it may rip the paper bag. Using the same twine tie another knot around one end of a piece of peppermint candy wrapper. Trim the twine to the desire length.
.
Repeat these steps with the other paper bags.
.
One of the simple ways to display them is in a wire basket.
