I’ve been making and eating TOO much caramel popcorn since Kim at Simply Domestic posted on her blog in November, 2013 the recipe for “mom’s caramel popcorn“. It’s so yummy good that it’s hard to stop eating once you start!

An Evening In Seattle & Pike Place Market
Before the year 2013 ended, we had the opportunity to go out for an evening in Seattle. It was a fun night of food and a comedy show. Late into the night before heading back to our truck to go home, Bill and I took a long stroll through Pike Place Market. The night air was cold {in the 20s} with a sense of quietness and not much going on in the area. The stores were closed , no traffic and it felt like we were the only ones out walking. We walked through alley ways, market place and cobble stone streets.
Many years ago, this was a place I often visited once a week to buy fresh produce, flowers, pastries, imported foods and gifts. Wonderful memories. Being here this late into the night was something I haven’t done in a long while. It was a great night for the two of us.
Winter….. staying warm & cozy with a cup of hot chocolate
The view of the snow covered mountains in the distance gave me a little sense of the winter season here in the valley where I live. The temperature is in the 40s and a chance of a blanket of white winter snow will not be in the forecast soon … hoping it will happen in the near future.
Staying warm near the wood stove while working on the computer, I got into the mood of making hot chocolate after seeing Jenny Steffens Hobick’s recent blog post, Mimi’s Creamy & Dreamy Hot Chocolate. It’s a simple recipe and I have all the ingredients; so I decided to try it out. Bill and the kids tasted the hot chocolate and they liked it. The recipe is a keeper.
2014, Happy New Year!

Encouraging words for the new year!
Print a copy {Here}
A new year’s resolution … or not? Personally, I tend to stay away from doing that because the chance of me sticking to it will be short. As a result, I decided to create a mini bulletin board full of encouraging words to share. I first thought about making this for my kids to have and post it where they could see it often. The messages they hear and see on the internet, television and other medias can be negative and discouraging. This is my little way to lift their spirits and let them know that they are special to us.
Start the new year with a fresh positive attitude!

Here I’ve slipped the printed paper with inspiration words inside the 3-ring binder plastic cover.
Print a copy {Here} for yourself or to share with others.
I hope this will be encouraging for you in 2014!
