Oscar de la Renta {above}, in a moment backstage before he made an appearance to the audience after his Spring 2015 show. This photo was taken by Miguel Yatco. It was the last show before Oscar de la Renta passed away on October 20, 2014. He was the man who dressed women in beautiful clothes for decades. I will be sharing more about Oscar de la Renta and his influence in the fashion industry for the past 5 decades in my “part 2”. But for now, enjoy his beautiful collect for spring.

Oscar de la Renta spring 2015 collection is simply beautiful and visually pleasing. The look is youthful, fresh and as always elegant and classic.
A little dusting of snow on the ground,
temperature in the 20s and 30s,
the warmth from the wood stove,
Christmas decorations in the house,
and the sounds of Christmas music…
what a nice start to the season,
or as Bing Crosby would sing it…
Céline Fall 2014 collection is simple, bold, and slightly edgy.
The Creative Director, Phoebe Philo, brought a little bit of the retro 1930’s feel with a modern minimal look to the collection. The style is feminine with subtle masculine elements. The statement is in the details and accessories; adding bold simple jewelry, large stitch work, prints, contrasting colors and textures.
When it comes to fashion, I tend to keep my wardrobe pretty basic. But I do enjoy staying up-to-date with news of what designers are creating and designing for the different seasons. What are the new trends, shapes, colors, fabrics, and accessories coming down the runway. Spring fashion 2014 debuted last year and the ready-to-wear collections will soon be in retail stores. Here are a few of my favorite inspirational pictures for spring 2014. The silhouettes are flirty with ruffles. The palette of pastels, creamy whites with contrasted black and dark hues. There are many patterns, stripes, floral prints and embroideries in striking colors.
Last but not least, the Elie Saab Haute Couture Spring 2014 collection. Simply beautiful! Picking one or two pictures to share with you would not capture the overall collection. See the video of the spring collection in its entirety below.

These are my color picks for spring 2014. Use them however you like. The color palette is great as a guide for your wardrobe, decorating a room, pillow combinations, a craft project, setting the table for entertaining or a simple flower arrangement this spring season. I included a color palette to the right of each outfit pictured above to help visualize how the colors could be combined.
The skinny belt has always been a part of fashion accessories. For the past few years I’ve noticed a surge in its popularity. From Haute Couture to high fashion and to the everyday ready-to-wear collections. It’s a fun accessory to mix and match, to compliment and/or add a pop of color to an outfit.
