Fall Ideas & Recipes

………………………… ~ …………………………

10 ideas to create or be inspired this Fall Season.

The main entrance decoration is simple with a few orange pumpkins and gray gourds. Using a large pumpkin as a flower container ties everything together.                                      (image 1

Setting the tables using pumpkins, gourds, twigs, and wood tree slices will bring out the simple and rustic feel to the tables.                                                                               (images  2   3

Grouping the same items together will give a big impact.  Using the French tian bowl for the apples is unexpected and compliments the display nicely.  If you’re not sure what to use as the center piece for the table, try a big bowl or platter full of white mini pumpkins.       (images  4  5 )

Printable leaves from EAB Designs attached to felted acorns are beautiful & simple together.   Silverbox Creative Studio printable, “I am Thankful For is wonderful as napkin rings, tags or paper chain.  (tutorial how to make felted wool acorns at Tonya Utkina’s website)                                                                                                                              (images  6  7 )

Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil Salad

Tomatoes and basil are finally ready for picking in my garden.  I like growing the small variety tomatoes because they will ripen earlier than the large varieties.

(Almost) Instant Iced Coffee

This recipe came about because I wanted to enjoy iced coffee anytime and not have to go through a long process to make it.  The Starbucks instant coffee works great and it has a nice strong flavor, especially the French Roast.

Rhubarb Strawberry Crisp

It’s nice to know that there will be plenty of rhubarb in my garden from spring to the end of summer. The one recipe that I often make with it is Rhubarb Strawberry Crisp.  It came together from bits and pieces of different recipes found over the years and as a result, the combination is sweet, tart, tender, and crispy.  With the addition of ice cream will make it even more delicious.
