I’ve been making and eating TOO much caramel popcorn since Kim at Simply Domestic posted on her blog in November, 2013 the recipe for “mom’s caramel popcorn“. It’s so yummy good that it’s hard to stop eating once you start!

Chocolate, Caramel & Marshmallows
During the Christmas season our family always looks forward to the homemade goodies. We received these yummy sweets pictured below from our very good friend, Karen Young. They were incredibly delicious (I enjoyed almost all of them) and it was extremely hard for me to share any of it with my family.
.
On my recent visit to her house, Karen was preparing these caramel wrapped marshmallows for a special order. The creaminess of the caramel and the fluffiness of the marshmallow were delicious together. I think these are my new favorite treats.
If you are interested in purchasing these as gifts for someone or for yourself, please contact us here at White Gunpowder and we will be sure to get you in touch with Karen.
Thank you Karen and Family for all these goodies!………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Hot Cocoa
Hot Cocoa is a popular gift for giving and always a treat to receive at Christmas time. My kids will be giving these treats to their friends for Christmas. Here are a few ideas to make store bought hot cocoa mix and marshmallows special to give as gifts.
. . . . .
I discovered these Kraft Jet-Puffed Stacker Mallows a few years ago at Target. These flat marshmallows are perfect to be made into fun shapes using mini cookie cutters.
Mini plastic bags come in many sizes and the large clear bag has a sticky tape closure that seals it like an envelope. The Swiss Miss cocoa mix is the favorite with our kids (2 1/2 to 3 Tablespoons per bag). Each gift package contained two servings of hot cocoa, instructions, two candy canes and enough marshmallows to share.
have fun !
~
• dip cookie cutter in powdered sugar to keep marshmallows from sticking to it • string cut-out marshmallows together as a garland or turn them into gift tags •

Miette
Miette is French for “crumb”. Miette for me also means a bakery shop of fine pastries, cakes, desserts and sweets. In 2001, Meg Ray began selling layered cakes under a pink tent at the Berkeley Farmers’ Market. Her business grew and in 2003, she opened her first bakery shop in San Francisco’s Ferry Building. There are now four Miette bakery shops in California located at the Ferry Building, Hayes Valley, Jack London Square, and Marin Country Mart. Below are beautiful pictures taken of the bakery shop at the Marin Country Mart by Neely Wang {photography+design} .

For the past year, I have been enjoying & baking recipes from Meg Ray’s cookbook, Miette . This book is filled with recipes for cakes, tarts, cookies, homemade marshmallows and fleur de sel carmels.
