. . .
Spring is officially here and in a few weeks we will be celebrating Easter.
Finding the Easter basket on Easter morning is a tradition my kids look forward to-even now as teenagers. In each of their baskets {similar to the one in the picture above} there will be sweets, chocolates and a little something special. To personalize their baskets this year, I’ve created tags with this adorable French rabbit from The Graphic Fairy.
The original French rabbit image is found, here. I’ve embellished it with a necklace of roses and forget-me-not flowers then softened it’s fur color to a warm brown/gray.

I also included a large rabbit printable image, here.

An assortment of chocolate Easter eggs came from Cadbury {mini milk chocolate eggs} and Saxon Chocolates {speckled chocolate hazelnut truffle eggs}.
.
An alternative to a wicker Easter basket is a fabric basket. I’ve sewn this basket from a self-made pattern and used a heavy weight cotton canvas material for sturdiness and to hold its shape. I did not put together a diy for it, but here are some basic instructions on how to make it. You will need to create a pattern; an 8-inch circle for the bottom and an 8-inch by 27-inch rectangle for the sides {long enough to wrap around the circumference of the circle}. Sew the long piece of fabric around the edges of the circle piece. Where the two short sides of the rectangle meet, sew them together to enclose the basket. Fold down about a ½-inch from the top edges and sew it to the sides to give a nice finish. Attach two fabric handles to the basket {optional}.

When sewing is not an option, here are a few places online to find the right basket for you, etsy, Amazon, and Ecohabitude.

Cute little gummy carrots to add to the basket.

I can’t remember where I found this little chick – last year, she is too adorable. Most craft stores will have something similar.

Your Easter goodie fabric basket is adorable and thank you for sharing the rabbit tag. I just printed it on cream paper and it is so lovely with the roses. I will also visit the site with the vintage grass and I hope to get some of those perfect looking chocolate speckled eggs as well. Have a wonderful weekend.
So nice to hear that you printed the tags. The waxed paper grass is my favorite thing to use year round as fillers for packaging. The little speckled eggs can be difficult to find, check at your local specialty stores and on-line. They come in a prepackaged bag (3.2 oz). Happy Easter Monica!
Kay,
in your usual style………well done! Ruthie
Thank you Ruthie! Enjoy the day, it will be warm and sunny today.
