Sweet little gifts of M&M’s candies packaged in pink/white tissue paper for Valentine’s Day.
For the past few years the kids and I would fill these clear, long, skinny bags with M&M’s chocolate candies {pic above}, seal them, attach Valentine messages, and give them out to their friends. Simple and fun. For this Valentine’s Day, I decided to do it again and add the gift wrapping step for a pretty presentation.
.
Putting a little bit of fringe on the ends will create a whimsical/festive look.

Supplies:
• M&M’s chocolate candies {red, pink, and white}
• Tissue paper {red, pink, and white colors}
• 1″ x 8″ clear resealable cellophane bags {available online, here-Etsy }
• decorative tape
• scissors
{Grace was my helper with assembling and wrapping these Valentine packages}
step 1. Fill a clear bag with M&M’s chocolate candies and seal the opening. We used a little spoon to transfer the M&M’s candies into it.
.
{tissue paper colors: hot pink, pale pink, and white}
step 2. Cut three pieces of tissue paper {12″ x 7″}, your choice of colors.
step 3. To make the fringe along the two shorter sides of the tissue paper: use a pair of scissors and cut 1-inch into the tissue paper at an interval of about ⅛ to ¼ inch to make little long strips. Keep cutting until you reach the other end. Repeat it on the opposite side of the tissue paper.
.
step 4. Place the three sheets together and set the filled candy bag along the long edges of the tissue papers leaving about 2 inches overhang on each side {fringe ends}. Roll the 3 layers of tissue paper around the bag of M&M’s candies.
.
step 5. Secure the tissue paper with a piece of decorative tape in the center.
step 6. Pinch and twist the two ends to close, then gently loosen the cut tissue strips to fluff them up.
.
step 7. Repeat steps 1-6 to make as many as you like.

Wonderful and sweet memories with your daughter Doré.
We have fewer Valentine’s Day cards/treats to give out now that my kids are older {mainly the kids from Caleb’s class and some close friends of my girls}. A little more time could be spent putting Valentine treats together. This was a fun project to do.
My sister will love this idea they do crafts for my nieces birthday which is in February and for Girl Scouts….perfect for them to do and enjoy later.
Hi Monica! I hope they will enjoy doing this craft project… I love the idea for the birthday party and for Girl Scouts.
