Part 2: Industrial Elements & More…. at Pacific Galleries and Second Use

Part 2:  industrial elements, vintage things and more….

After a visit to Fran’s Chocolates new retail space {I wrote about it in the last blog post here}, a stop at Pacific Galleries and Second Use are next. These two retail establishments are located in the Seattle Industrial District about two miles north of Fran’s Chocolates.

The Industrial District is located just beyond CenturyLink Field {Seahawks football/Sounders soccer stadium} and Safeco Field {Mariners baseball stadium}.  The Port of Seattle is to the right.

Directly north of the stadiums is the downtown Seattle area.  Bill was able to include the Space Needle in the picture above.  It is on the right edge of the picture and beyond the tall buildings.

With a tall cup of coffee in hand we are ready to explore, get ideas, and maybe find some treasures to take home…… let’s get started.

The Pacific Galleries is an auction house and an antique mall.  The building is packed with an assortment of things and each booth will be different from the next.  The pictures below were taken from several visits there.  {Because of the constant change of merchandise, the items in the pictures below are likely not available any longer.}  In addition to the antique mall, there is an auction house located in the same building.  To get current information, pictures, the time and the date of the next auction, go to their website, here.

Great use of the different industrial elements in this booth.  It was filled with recycled materials and some were changed and redesigned for a new purpose.  I visited here a week later and most of this merchandise was gone.

The next stop is Second Use.  It is the place where building materials, antiques, architectural elements and other unwanted materials have been gathered together to be repurposed and to be reused again.  There are rows and rows of doors, windows, and cabinets along with light fixtures, sinks, tubs, tiles, door knobs, and many other things to see and explore.  Here is a little glimpse of what you will see there….

Bill and Kay, I have so enjoyed viewing Seattle’s industry elements through your lens. Brilliant! These are a few of my favorite places.

So glad you enjoyed it Lynn. I try to limit the number of visits there… too many tempting things to bring home. I wanted one of the two BIG bins in the picture above, but I couldn’t get it in the back of my truck {Bill was quite thankful for that} 🙂
