Inspirations can come from anywhere and anything, they tie together all the little loose pieces and ideas, bring out creativity, and help to motivate and guide you.  The images for this autumn inspiration board came together from places I recently visited, things I have around the house, and what I’ve been thinking about.

Autumn, pumpkins and leaves

Autumn, pumpkins and leaves

This beautiful pumpkin with its soft shades of gray and blush warm cream became the center piece of how I wanted to decorate this season…..simple and clean.  I found it while shopping at a little local grocery store.  It was sitting on the ground and slightly hidden inside a little crate.  The moment I saw it, I couldn’t wait to take it home.

The autumn leaves were another inspiration.  With Hannah’s help {above pic}, we gathered a little basket full to take home to use in decorating.

The dried leaves were displayed around the pumpkins and on the cake stands under the glass domes for viewing.

I hope you & Dave are having a wonderful fall season – I saw the temperature for Idaho, Brrrr. We are feeling a little bit of that here and got the wood stove going this morning.

    Kay,
Your fall inspiration photos are just beautiful. My favorites include the fall leaves and the dark green pumpkins in the white bowls. I am planning Thanksgiving lunch today, and you have given me some ideas for the table decor and food. I’m looking forward to seeing the recipe for the sweet potato with caramelized apples dish.
